The modern English-language discourse is characterised by a significant flourishing of mass communication, which leads to the emergence of new vocabulary and terminology. In this regard, the study of the semantics and functions of neologisms in video games is relevant, since neologisms are an important factor in language transformation in the context of globalisation and technological development. Video games, as a component of modern culture, have a significant impact on the formation of language and lexicon. They become not only a means of entertainment, but also an important source of new lexical material reflecting technological, social and cultural changes. This essay will examine the role of video games in the formation of neologisms and their impact on contemporary culture. The aim of the study is to identify the specifics of neologisms in video games, analyse their functions and influence on language and culture. In particular, the study examines the process of forming new words and expressions in the video game context, their role in expressing new concepts and ideas, and their impact on audience perception. The methodology includes analysing the lexical composition of video games and other publications related to gaming, as well as comparing the semantic features of neologisms in different language environments. The results of the study will contribute to a better understanding of the mechanisms of formation and functioning of neologisms in video games, as well as reveal their impact on the evolution of language and cultural transformations. This data can be useful for linguists, translators, gaming researchers and others interested in the linguistic aspects of video games.uk_UA
